Born May 13, 1926 to Charles and Sara Bernstein, Alvin Bernstein passed away October 28, 2021 at the age of 95. Alvin lived a full and active life. He even played some tennis, the game he loved, the Sunday before his death. After enlisting at age 17 and serving in the U.S Army Air Force, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University and began his very successful career, which spanned many decades. At the age of 27, Alvin married the love of his life, Iris, and they moved into a small apartment in the Bronx, NY. They spent 66 years together before her passing. During that time, his success in business enabled them to move to larger homes and fill them with a family he adored. Alvin was an only child and is survived by his three children, Bruce and his wife Becky, Andrew, Stuart and his wife Barbara, and two grandchildren, Charles and Jacob. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Congregation Schaarai Zedek Synagogue, 3303 W. Swann Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Orchestra, Congregation Schaarai Zedek, or the charity of one's choice.
