Barry Louis Silber

Barry Louis Silber passed away peacefully with his family at his side in Tampa, FL on 7/29/2023 at the too young age of 72. Born and raised in North Miami Beach, Barry was fortunate to have most of his family living nearby. During his time at the University of Florida, Barry made some lifelong friendships with several of his Pi Lambda Phi fraternity brothers. After graduating from the University of Florida School of Law, Barry worked for a short time for the Florida Attorney Generals’ office. He soon moved to Pensacola with his wife Ava and became well known in his private practice as a champion of “the little guy”, representing workers who were injured on the job. After Hurricane Ivan damaged their house in Pensacola, Barry sold his law practice. He then moved to Tampa, and with his children, started the Silber Law Group and Linear Capital. He referred to his role in this new law firm as the “most experienced law clerk in Florida” while he helped to mentor his kids in what he called the favorite chapter of his life. Barry’s generosity was second to none, always having friends and family over for food and good cheer. Barry lived life large, enjoying traveling, Gator football games, fishing and organizing various trips and activities with friends and family. Predeceased by his parents Myra and Murray Silber and his son-in-law Brian Neuman, Barry is survived by his brother Robert Silber of Miami, FL; children David Silber (Niki) and Carlyn Neuman both of Tampa, FL; “Aunt Bobby” Marks of Tampa his beloved grandchildren Harper and Caleb Neuman and Petra Silber along with many cousins and other loving family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org). Funeral services were held at 3:30 on August 1st at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 West Swann Avenue, Tampa.
