Bernice Starr

Bernice Starr, 86, of Tampa, died Friday May 22, 2009. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert Starr in November 2006, she is survived by her niece Hanna Weiss of Tampa; nephews Martin Weiss and wife Debbie and Ira Weiss; great nephew Evan Weiss; and sisters in law Dorothy Skop and Mary Gershowitz. Bernice was born in New York City, and grew up in Tampa, leaving here in 1947 and returning in 1975. She was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom and a life member of Haddassah, and retired from St. Joseph Hospital where she was a dietician. Graveside funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Beth Israel Cemetery, Indiana Ave. at N. Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Rodeph Sholom or Haddassah.
