Carmen Figueroa

FIGUEROA, Carmen, 55, of Lutz, succumbed to her battle against cancer on May 26, 2013. A former Staten Island resident and retired NYPD detective, her greatest love was her family. She was a graduate of Port Richmond High School, and continued her studies at Sullivan County Community College and the College of Staten Island, where she received a master's degree in Education and Administration. In 1983, she joined the NYPD and was promoted to the rank of detective in 1991. She retired after 20 years of service in 2003. Carmen was the beloved daughter of Nico Medes Figueroa and Teresa Dolan and the loving sister of Lourdes Palermo, David Figueroa, and Georgina Figueroa. She was a devoted aunt to 8 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, David Hamilton Snider, who passed away in 2010. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 31st from 6pm-8pm, with a service at 7:30pm at Segal Funeral Home- 3909 Henderson Blvd. Tampa, Florida 33629.
