David Hetrick Jr.

Hetrick, David R. Jr., passed away suddenly and tragically on Thursday evening, January 10, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.  Our hearts are broken, and life will never be the same without him. David was a profoundly kind person, gentle soul, very gifted artist, businessman, great friend, devoted & beloved son and an incredible and proud father of three beautiful children who he raised as a single father for most of their lives.  David has hundreds of friends and family throughout the United States and all around the world. As an organ donor David’s legacy will live on and help others, saving many lives. This was an incredible and generous gift for David to leave behind and we are comforted knowing that David’s light will live on in many. David was 51 years old and spent the last many years living in Tampa, FL.  He was raised in Delran, NJ and was a graduate of Delran High School, class of 1985.  David went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and then pursued post-graduate work from the Philadelphia College of Art.  David was the founder of Exterior Concepts in Tampa, FL and ran that company for many years where he created hundreds of custom outdoor living spaces using his unique blend of artistry and carpentry. David loved spending time fishing, snow skiing, water skiing, canoeing, riding his classic Harley and kayaking with his children, family and many, many close friends.  He was passionate about music and had an extensive vinyl record collection.  He was always willing to provide support & lend his time and talents to family, friends, strangers and many business associates. David is preceded in death by his father, David Hetrick Sr. Survivors include his beloved children; Brooklyn Hetrick, Frances Creagh and Cole Hetrick; Mother and step-father Shirley and Walter Beringer; siblings, Daniel Hetrick, Walter Beringer (Daphne), Craig Beringer (Lisa), and Kim Ball (Michael), and his close friend Julia Charlier, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of David's life will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 12:00pm at Grace Family Church, located at 4479 W. Gandy Blvd. in South Tampa.  All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to https://www.gofundme.com/legacy-fund-for-the-children-of-david-r-hetrick.
