Frieda Haimovitz

Frieda Haimovitz passed away, at the comfort of her daughter's home, on October 31, 2024. Born in Tampa, FL to Sam and Rebecca Haimovitz, Frieda spent her early childhood with her sister, Eleanor (McCullough) in Ybor City, until Sam built the family home on Davis Island. The island is where Frieda grew up, along with, Verna, her mother's companion, until marriage. Frieda considered her cousins, Sharon Stevens (Weinstein), Ira Weinstein and sisters, Cookie Neuman and Jeannie Plowden (Filas) as best friends, and they remained friends, throughout their lives.

Frieda enjoyed life; from traveling, cruising, attending the dinner theatre and concerts, to driving a Harley and going to a wrestling match with her grandchild.... she was always ready for an experience, but it could not be during a Miami Hurricanes or Pittsburgh Steelers game, which she enjoyed watching with her son-in-law, Paul, among the many other activities she enjoyed. We will miss the conversations, debates and humor that we shared with her.

Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Rebecca Haimovitz, sister, Eleanor McCullough, nephew, Michael McCullough, cousins Ira Weinstein, Cookie Neuman and Jeannie Plowden and second cousin, Craig Neuman. Frieda is survived by her children, Scott Segan, Lisa Bolland (Paul), Staci Segan and Victoria Griffis (Steven). Grandchildren, Samantha Johnson (Stephen), Casey Segan (Anjelica), Jeremy Bolland (Lauren), Gregory Madrid, Rick Hilton (Melissa), Shoshanna Ponder (Austin) and Shelly Green (Brady). Great-grandchildren, Addison, Jackson and Henley Bolland (Jeremy & Lauren), Aubrey Eleanor and David Segan (Casey & Anjelica), Angel and A.J. Ponder (Shoshanna & Austin). Nieces, Robin LaValley, Candi McCullough. Nephew, Bruce McCullough. Cousins, Rod Neuman, Lon Neuman, Lorna Knowles and Randy Pisetzky.
