Frimit Gardner

Frimit Silberstein Gardner, born on October 2, 1922 in St. Paul Minnesota, passed away on February 22, 2009. She was raised in Tallahasse Florida where she later attended the Florida State College for Women. When the University of Florida became co-ed, she transferred there and later received her bachelor's degree in education while holding down three jobs. At the U of F, she met her future husband Henry Gardner. Mrs. Gardner raised three wonderful daughters, her greatest accomplishment, all of whom reside in Tampa; Risa Gardner, Cathy Gardner and Ellen Johnson. She is predeceased by her husband, Henry, brother Sam (Buddy) Silberstein and grandchild Noah. She is survived by her three daughters, son-in law Robert (Chip) Johnson, daughter-in-law Peggy Mills, grandsons Kyle and Zachary Johnson, sister-in-law Deloris Silberstein, the women of "The Tuesday Club" and "The Thursday Club", many friends and relatives. "For Death is no more than a Turning of us over from Time to Eternity", William Penn. Funeral services will be held at Congregation Schaarai Zedek on Tuesday at 2:00pm.. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Noah Fund at the TOP Jewish Foundation, 13009 Community Campus Drive, Tampa, FL 33625.
