WIESENFELD, Jack S., age 87 of Tampa died Monday, December 9, 2013. Mr. Wiesenfeld was born in Boston, grew up in Brooklyn, New York and came to Tampa ten years ago after living in Maitland since 1969. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served proudly in the Pacific during WWII. He was a volunteer with many organizations including the USO, Faith Cafe the Chesed Shel Emes, tutored students in reading and through Sar-El, he volunteered each year for fourteen years to serve in the Israeli Army. He was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom and the Jewish War Veterans, Albert Aronovitz Post #373. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 20 years, Selma and his loving companion, Goldie Shear. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Neil & Teri Wiesenfeld, Damien & Leslie Wiesenfeld, daughters and son-in-law, Ellen (Wiesenfeld) & Albert Sanfilippo and Tiffani Wiesenfeld, sister and brother-in-law, Ethel & Norman Bigel, nine cherished grandchildren and his former companions family, Steve and Jeff Shear and their families along with many other close friends. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday), 2:00 PM at Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 2713 Bayshore Boulevard, Tampa. Interment will be at Beth Moses Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Rodeph Sholom Education Fund.
