Jeanine Messerschmidt

Jeanine Ziegler Messerschmidt passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Jeanine was born on July 26, 1960 in Miami, Florida. She was a class officer and graduated with honors from Central High School in Miami in 1978. She graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia with a degree in sociology in 1982. Jeanine had a long and distinguished career in the hospitality industry to include The Mission Inn, Sanibel/Harbor Resort and the Tradewinds Resort. At the time of her passing, Jeanine was employed as a sales manager at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Convention Visitors Bureau. Jeanine was an extremely kind and giving person. She always thought of others first. Always looking for the best in everyone. She loved her rescue dogs and cats, always having at least one or two in their home. Jeanine was a passionate Miami Hurricanes, Dolphins and Tampa Bay Rays fan. She knew more about sports than most men. Her charity was boundless and exemplified by her mentoring in the Big Sister Program. Jeanine’s final act of selfless giving was to save the lives of three anonymous recipients of her organ donations. Predeceased by her Mother and Father, George and Laurel Ziegler. Survived by her loving husband Stephen J. Messerschmidt, many cousins, nieces and nephews and beloved cat, Gracie. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Big Brother’s Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, Inc.
