Johanna M. Barat

BARAT,  Johanna (Hughes) Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away, November 1, 2023 in Tampa after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was born on February 16, 1943 and was a 1961 graduate of Plant High School and attended the University of Texas. Johanna was a co-owner in her decorating business for many years with one of her best friends and then worked in retail, where she loved talking to people. She also served as the youth group director for Congregation Schaarai Zedek, where she was a member for 46 years.  Johanna will be remembered for her fantastic smile, huge laugh and kind heart. Johanna is preceded in death by her father Joseph Hughes, her mother Vivian Hughes her brother Joseph Hughes and sister Leah Sharpe Marsicano. She is survived by her husband Sheldon Barat, daughters Cara Daniels Naylor, Erin Corcoran (Patrick) and grandchildren Ben Corcoran and Charlotte Corcoran, her very special loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends all whom she adored and cherished.
