Jose Murillo

Murillo, Jose 84, of Tampa died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, May 20, 2018. Mr. Murillo was born in Barcelona, Spain and emigrated to Cuba to continue competing as a professional Jai-Lai player. He played in Miami and Tampa in the early 60's before retiring after 17 years, then joined the family bakery business, United Bakeries of Florida. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Paula; sons, Michael and Albert, daughter-in-law, Carmen; and sister, Nuria Murillo, who still remains in Barcelona. A celebration of his life was held this past week.
