Kevin Raymond Christian

Kevin Raymond Christian, 40, of Tampa, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2025. Born on November 4, 1984, in Groton, Connecticut to Raymond and Kathy Christian, Kevin was a beloved husband, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, and cherished friend to many.

Raised in New England, Kevin made the Tampa Bay area his home for the last two decades. A licensed optician, Kevin dedicated his career to the field of eye care, excelling in roles ranging from sales and training to consulting. Sometimes called “a freaking magician”, his problem-solving skills, deep knowledge and charisma made him a sought-after favorite of many patients and clients over the years.

Kevin's life was marked by the deep and lasting connections he made with others. Known for his razor-sharp wit, infectious laugh, and sharp intellect, his magnetic personality drew others to him. His helpful nature, thoughtful gift-giving, and enveloping bear hugs left those around him feeling seen and deeply loved.

A man of many passions, Kevin was a gifted, self-taught guitarist — equally adept at acoustic and electric — whose skill and creativity were matched only by his enthusiasm. In recent years, he hand-crafted several guitars, each one a testament to his eye for detail and love for the craft. He was happiest riffing with a guitar in hand. He loved being out on the water with a fishing rod, or at the shooting range honing his aim. He rarely missed Friday “sushi group” dinner with friends, loved attending metal concerts and MMA fights, and he never turned down the challenge of an escape room — including one where he memorably proposed to his wife.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his wife, Victoria Christian, of Tampa, FL, and their three dogs: Kai, Kona, and Maui; his parents, Raymond and Kathy Christian of Wakefield, RI; sisters Melissa Angell (Cumming, GA) and Emma MacIntyre (Bradford, RI); nephews William and Luke Angell; grandmother Ruth Durfee of Newfield, ME; many aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law; his Brotherhood of friends and many others so close to him.

"Where there is deep grief, there was great love."

Kevin’s spirit lives on in the memories shared by those who loved him. A private celebration of his life will be held on October 4, 2025 in Tampa Florida.
