GREEN, Lillian S, age 89, of Tampa passed away on June 3, 2012. She was born in Atlantic City, NJ on September 4, 1922 but from infancy was raised in Malden, MA where she lived until her marriage in 1946. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Dr. Harold Green. Survivors include her daughter, Linda D.Green, M.D. (Paul Stieff) of Garnet Valley, PA and her brother, Arnold (Barbara) Sager of Longwood, FL and Danvers, MA. She is also survived by numerous, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She moved to Tampa from Indianapolis, IN in 1949. For 20 years she was a teacher of elementary education in Tampa until her retirement in 1986. She was a graduate of Malden High School in Malden , MA where she was valedictorian of the Class of 1940. She was an honor graduate of Simmons College, Boston, MA, in 1944 and in later years took education courses at the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa. She was a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek and its Sisterhood since 1949. She was a life member of the West Hillsborough County Retired Educators Assocaitaion, a Life Member of the Florida Retired Educators Association, the Simmons College Alumnae Association and the Simmons College Club of S.W. Florida. She was a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Gamma Chapter, past president of Tampa Bay Chiropractic Auxillary, past president of the Hillsborough County Chiropractic Auxiliary, past president and life member of the Florida Chiropractic Auxiliary and was a past volunteer for the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Graveside services will be held at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 6 at 10:00am. Officiaiting will be Rabbi Richard Birnholz of Congregation Schaarai Zedek.
