Louise Karp Essrig

 

Louise (age 102) was born and raised in New Orleans at what was then called Jewish Children’s Home, a residence for Jewish children who were either orphaned or whose parents were unable to care for them.  She had been residing in Tampa until she moved to Jacksonville in 2001 to be near her daughter. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Adele Stewart of Jacksonville, son Paul SImon Essrig of Denver and son Matthew Lewis Essrig of Tampa.  The family wishes to acknowledge Myra Brown, Louise's long-time devoted and loyal caregiver as well as dedicated caregivers Cheryle Royal and Jacqueline Fuette, all from the Jacksonville area and who provided additional loving care in her last year of life.
 
Survived by granddaughter Ashley Claire Essrig of New Hampshire(father Irv, Jr)
Survived by granddaughter Marti Lee Stewart (Greg McEachern) of Gainesville and their 2 children Agatha Rose and Frida Louise.
Survived by grandaughter Brinly Louise Standridge (Noah) and their 5 children Micah Orion, Levi Ocean, Ocoee Carolyn, Sequoia Rose, Juniper Rheama
 
Predeceased by her sons Martin Lee Essrig and Irving Martin Essrig, Jr.
Predeceased by her sisters and their husbands: Adele Karp Cahn(Sleepy), Sarah Karp Joseph(Sol), Bessie Mulberg(Victor)
Predeceased by her nephew Mike Cahn of New Orleans.
 
Predeceased by her brother-in-law Marvin Essrig, his wife Cecile, and their son "Doc" Jerome.
Predeceased by her sister-in-law Shirley Essrig Finman and her husband Oscar.
Predeceased by her Ex-husband of 35 years Dr. Irving Martin Essrig
 
Survived by her nieces Cecile Lee Essrig of Tampa  and Katherine Essrig-Napper (Kevin) of Tampa and their daughter Emma,
Survived by her nephew Sandy Finman(Robin) of Tampa, and niece Patricia Finman Wolfe now of Tennessee.
 
A private graveside ceremony took place in Tampa at Garden of Memories/Myrtle Hill Cemetery  with Rabbi Debra Shenefelt of Congregation Or Ahavah officiating.
 
In Louise's memory donations can be made to the Disabled Veteran's of America or similar or to the chariy of your choice.
