Martin Z Kessler

KESSLER, Martin Z., died March 6, 2022, in Tampa.

Born December 23, 1946, Martin was the son of the late Simon Kessler and the late Edythe Brinen Kessler, of Tampa, Florida.  Martin was preceded in death by his sister Jean Nelligan. He is survived by his sister, Beverly Kessler Fruit and her husband, Melvyn; brother-in-law James L. Nelligan; nieces and nephews, Lori A. Fruit; Andrew J. Fruit and his wife, Julie; and James C. Nelligan and his wife, Joanne; and great-nephews and niece, Michael I. Fruit, Samuel Fruit, Everett Fruit, Ryan Nelligan, and Rachel Nelligan.

Martin was a graduate of Plant High School; Vanderbilt University; and University of Florida College of Law.  At Vanderbilt, Martin was President of AEPi Fraternity; and at UF Law School, he was the Executive Editor of the Florida Law Review.  Martin was an accomplished attorney in Tampa for many years, specializing in real estate law, probate and business law.  Martin was a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek, and was an avid historian of the extended Kessler family.

A memorial Service will be held April 3, 2022 (Sunday) 2:30 PM at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 West Swann Avenue, Tampa.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Schaarai Zedek, Weinberg Village or the charity of one's choice.
