Mary Frankle

The family regrets to announce the passing of Mary Kathryn Theresa Devereaux Frankle, born May 3, 1960.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 28 years, Mark, and two adoring children, Nick and Lauren. She leaves behind her siblings Karen Scioscia (Tony), Jim (Cathy), and Tom, brother in law, David (Rosemarie), sister in law Ellen Michalove Frankle and nieces and nephews ( Sabrina, Jamie, Jessica, Tony, Sean, Jason, Jaimie, Stephanie, Kristin) and very dear lifelong friends, Phil & Marilyn. Mary was loved dearly by her family, friends, and all who knew and worked with her.

Mary graduated from USF with a degree in English. She was working as a flight attendant when she met Mark. She devotedly supported her husband through the many years of his medical training and during his private practice, while finding time to contribute her talents to the Tampa community she loved. ? Mary's life was the picture of altruistic giving. She started serving many years ago when she volunteered in the library where her children attended school. She was an ardent supporter of Tampa General Hospital where she was a member of the Women's Leadership Council and the TGH Foundation Gala Committees. Her compassionate heart was evident as she comforted critically ill infants in the NICU. She served on the board at the Tampa Museum of Art and volunteered at Metropolitan Ministries, River Walk Development and Public Arts of Tampa, where she donated numerous pieces of art. Mary authored a book about her husband's parents' experience as Holocaust survivors, which was on display at the Holocaust Museum. She kept a butterfly Holocaust Memorial at her home in their honor. Mary also contributed her inspiration and motivation for numerous other projects, as well as providing spousal support to Mark, the love of her life.

Countless families have been blessed by Mary. She touched many lives by providing meals, flowers, and words of comfort. Mary was artistic, selfless, and an incredible wordsmith. She was fun, kind, clever, and ingenious. Mary was a treasure who will be missed, not only by her family and friends, but by the community she served.
