Mendel Riba

Mendel "Manny" Riba, 85, of Tampa, died Tuesday July 14, 2009. A native of Dzialoszyce, Poland and Holocaust survivor, he has been a resident of Tampa for 25 years. Survived by his wife of 63 years Sally; son S. David Riba and wife Abby of Clearwater, Florida; daughter Susan R. Schneiderman and husband Steven of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; son Eli J. Riba of Tampa; granddaughter Elisabeth Riba and husband Ian of Boston, Massachusetts, grandsons Joshua Riba of Clearwater, Florida, Zachary Schneiderman and wife Erin of Phoenix, Arizona and Barry Schneiderman of Chicago,Illinois; and great-grandsons Nathan and Jacob Riba of Palm Harbor, Florida. He was the owner and president of Bay Food Distributors, Inc. and a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday July 16, 2009 at Congregation Rodeph Sholom with interment to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mendel and Sally Riba Family Endowment Foundation, March of the Living, c/o T.O.P.
