SCHONWETTER, Morris J., 93, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on June 9, 2013. Mr. Schonwetter, born in Poland and formerly of Brooklyn, NY and N. Miami Beach came to the Tampa Bay area 18 years ago. Mr. Schonwetter was a member and former Senior Advisor on the Board of Trustees at Congregation Kol Ami and was an honoree at Weinberg Village 8 over 80 in 2012. He was a former religious vice president at Beth Torah Adath Yeshurin Congregation in Miami. Mr. Schonwetter served in the Army and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joyce and one sister, Sylvia Frank. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and Dr. David Sussman of Lawrence, NY, son, Dr. Barry Schonwetter of Boston, MA, son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Ronald and Rita Schonwetter of Tampa, sister, Gertrude Finger, brother, Sonny Schonwetter and seven grandchildren, Adam, Gene, Melissa, and Samuel Sussman, Sara Schonwetter and spouse Oded Shainin, Rachel and Jonathan Schonwetter and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him dearly. Mr. Schonwetter was dedicated to his family and his memory will always be a blessing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation Kol Ami or the charity of one's choice. Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, June 11th, 1:00pm at Congregation Kol Ami, 3919 Moran Rd., Tampa, 33618 with Rabbi Judd officiating and burial to follow at Gan Shalom Cemetery.
