Myrna Ana Starr, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2025, after a courageous battle with Uterine Cancer. She was 62 years old.
Born on August 10th, 1962, Myrna was the cherished daughter of Ramon and Gladys Mederos, who immigrated to the United States from Cuba to build a better life for their family. Alongside her younger brother, Raymond, Myrna was raised with love, strong values, and a vibrant cultural heritage that shaped the generous and resilient woman she became.
Myrna dedicated over 25 years of her life as a medical assistant at Tampa General Hospital, where she was not only a valued colleague but a dear friend to many. Her compassion, warmth, and dedication to her work touched countless lives, and she was deeply loved around the office.
In Tampa, Florida, Myrna met the love of her life, Mitch. The two were married on New Year’s Eve in 1991, beginning a beautiful journey together filled with laughter, love, and family. Together, they raised their daughter Sarah, who was the light of Myrna’s life. Myrna was an extraordinary mother—nurturing, strong, and endlessly supportive.
Beyond her professional and family life, Myrna lived with passion and purpose. She was a proud triathlete, competing in numerous events and winning many medals that spoke to her determination and strength. She also found joy in the kitchen, where her love for baking made her famous among friends and family for her incredible desserts.
Myrna traveled the world with her family, embracing new places and cultures with a sense of wonder and joy. She loved planning trips with friends, always taking care to make every detail special. The ocean was her sanctuary—she found peace and happiness in its presence. Myrna had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. She lived for others, pouring her heart into every relationship. She was an extraordinary wife, a cherished friend, and an irreplaceable mother whose love and light will be remembered always.
