Naomi Frankel

A much-loved mother, grandmother, cousin, aunt and friend, Naomi Frankel (nee Mendelsohn) 79 of Tampa, Florida passed away on July 30, 2025. She was born on November 17,1945 in Brooklyn, New York.

Naomi is survived by her children David Frankel (Jennifer) of Buffalo Grove, Illinois and Stacie Dickey (Jason) of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren Brandon and Joseph “Joey” Frankel, Elisabeth “Ellie” and Jacob “JT” Dickey; cousins Richard Heller (Amanda), Barbara Weinberg (Andrew), Alan Decker (Barbara), and Marjorie Salzman (Bernerd); nephews Michael “John” Mendelsohn (Lisa) , Josef Bear, and Daniel Mendelsohn.

During her 19 years living in Denver, Colorado, Naomi enjoyed staying home to raise her two children, being an active and involved member at Temple Emanuel and its sisterhood, working as a paralegal, and learning to play tennis and golf. After moving to St. Louis, where she spent 13 years, Naomi tried her hand at real estate before returning to her love of accounting and working as a bookkeeper. Most recently, Naomi was an active member of Rodeph Shalom and worked as a tax consultant at H&R Block in Tampa.

Naomi is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen “Ruth” Mendelsohn; aunt Rita and Gabriel Heller; uncle Saul and Miriam Decker; cousin Charles Heller. 

A private service was held on Friday August 1, 2025, at Segal Funeral Home in Tampa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Naomi’s name to The American Cancer Society or Congregation Rodeph Shalom.
