Ruth "Cookie" Neuman

Ruth “Cookie” Neuman, age 81, of Tampa passed away May 12th, 2018. She was born in Columbia, Mississippi in 1936 and moved to Tampa in 1941 where she attended Robert E. Lee elementary school, George Washington Jr. High and Thomas Jefferson High School. After graduating in 1954 Cookie attended University of Florida, Jackson memorial Hospital of Nursing and completed her education at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis graduating as a Nurse Anesthetist. She worked for 45 years in her beloved profession until her retirement in 2006. Her last 31 years were with Women’s Hospital. Cookie is predeceased by her son Craig and her sister Jeannie. She is survived by her deeply cherished sons Rod (Jill) and Lon (Jenn), daughter-in- law Collette and grandchildren Jori, Mindi, Jacob, Hannah, Josie and Haley Jae. Services for Ruth will be held on Monday May 14th, 2018 at Congregation Schaarai Zedek at 5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society.
